A village is not just a cluster of houses. It is the sound of its fountains, the ringing of the bells, the smoke of the chimneys, the face of those who live there. The story that is made of it. Words that are like actions, like gestures, which narrate the usual and the legend, the said and the unsaid. This is why when I visit a town I get close to the old people and try to talk to them; of what was, of what is. And in their truth I recognize every wall, and every scratch, every hole. Every stain.
